Nc. Beaches OK?

flying to Nc in a week or so and am wondering if the beaches are open to detecting/ or if there are any special rules I would need to follow?

Where are you going in NC ? Beaches that are part of the national park system usually do not allow detecting.

gottit here ! Naggshead up the coast is OK /Naggshead down no. Ok for Atlantic Beach down to Wrightsville /no to fort macon and fort fisher area. OBX have a lot of new rules so be careful came bout this yr !! someone else may have more imfo

I was just going to post a similar question, then found this thread.

Been to Atlantic Beach and Emerald Isle many times and know what to expect there. My family is thinking about going a little farther north this year and we are looking into the Outer Banks (like Corolla), is there anything I should know about detecting in the Outer Banks?

If I'm not able to detect - my brother-in-law and I aren't going!!

What about Portsmouth island? I hear it's a State Park? It does not look like it is part of the national seashore, is this a go or no-go?
