NC Find: Drill, game ball

Hey everybody. Haven't posted in awhile and was able to get out and find some stuff to post. I found these back on August 13th in a tobacco field here in central/southeast NC. I believe it to be a drill with broken ear and a game ball the size of a marble. Don't know if the game ball is more modern american, like in the late 1800's or early 1900's or if it is Native American related? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks and enjoy.
