This piece measures approximately 1" x 1" and has what appears to be something similar to a paper clip in the middle(it may just be broken) with a hook that extends from the bottom. It is decorated across the top in raised "polka dots" with the image of a flower in the middle. Found in Tennessee in the middle of a field approximately 25' from where Flat buttons were found. Although the farm has been active for over 200 yrs.
Let me know what you think and thanks for looking.
UPDATE: Solved it's a suspender clip. Does anyone have a time period or patent date for this type? TIA
