well been looking alot on a piece of property my landlord owns behind the house and finding quite alot of stuff, anyways i'm pretty new to searching for artifacts and i'm sure i have threw some back down that i just wasn't sure of,so my question is,is there any good books for identifying these things? i live in berks county,so something pertaining to my area would probably be better.thanks in advance for any help.

Go to your local library they probably have something that will be relevant to your area. This may save you some money and give you an idea of what books to buy

richbat, check out this link. It takes you to Indian Artifact Magazines web site and their book page. They have a few books on Pa artifacts and I'm sure if you contacted Gary Fogleman he would help you out. Gary is the magazines editor.

SRV gave you some good advice with the link he provided. The books Pennsylvania Chert and Projectile Point Typology For Pennsylvania have been very helpful. These books will not help at explaining some of the tools used. Past posts on this site may help at ID'ing the things found beside points.
