need advice on a detector

i am looking to purchase a metal detector that will be good on saltwater beaches....dry sand, wet sand, and super shallow water....i am going to buy used, and my price range is about 300 dollars. any advice....as of now i found a fisher cz5 and whites IDX pro. either good for saltwater? SUGGESTIONS PLEASE!

If you venture into shallow water, you should get a waterproof mashine. On eBay you can find waterproof a Fisher 1280X, Tesoros of the older generations like the Stingray II or you can wait for a Tiger Shark, which might cost $50.00 more though. I'd suggest a VLF wih discrimination, even if you will need to get to know your mashine better, to reduce the chatter due to the salts, if there is any at all. I use the Stingray and have never had any problems. A PI (like the Sand Shark) is better on salt but you dig way too much trash up on the beach. Good luck and happy hunting!
