Hey everyone! I haven't been on or posting lately due to personal family things I have had going on, including having to travel oversees back to the homeland, and actually leaving my GTI 2500 with my cousin. I liked working and using the GTI 2500, but my arm got tired fairly quick due to the weight of it.

Also, while I was gone, my house was burglarized and I just received a pretty hefty check from my insurance co. So, the first thing I want to replace is my metal detector. I have been looking at three different detectors so far: Minelab SE, Minelab Etrac, and Whites DFX 300. If anyone has had experience using these machines and if they have pros and cons for them, I would be grateful. Money is not an issue, but I want to achieve maximum depth, and versatility. So basically, even if you think there is something better out there than the machines I have been looking at, please feel free to chime in and tell me why you think that one is the best. Thank you all, and HH!

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I've been using my dads DFX lately as you can see on my profile, but I don't think I'm getting the depth that I want and had with my GTI.

sorry about your troubles bud, wished ya could have made some of our hunts this year.seems the E-TRAC is the hot one right now,Goio is KILLING with it,jump on to the other IL forum and check out his finds.talk to Ron Shore at WindyCity Electronics and he'll take care of ya,tell him your part of our group

If it was me, I would consider the learning curve and then go buy an X-terra 70. It is a very good detector and so versatile. Just my 2 cents worth.

Depth, Weight, Great Machine. Etrac all day.
You can't go wrong with it. Lighter than the explorer, and very nice.

My two wheaties worth.
Mark

Ive been recieving a few pm's as well. Man, as new as the Etrac is, it sure does have a great rep. It seems like the Etrac is the way to go. Thanks again everyone. HH
