need advise - eagle set

Please offer you opinion as to weather or not I should buy more sets
I have a dealer that's been calling me to buy Eagle sets he has
American eagle uncirculated set
1986 - 2008 no special mint marks
In a binder and slip case
the case is from Dansco
Hes selling them @ 450 each - no tax
Hes a private part time retired dealer
the coins are ment
COuld really use your help on this, if its a good deal, i wouldn't want to pass it up
I bought 1 set a year ago from him
I let a neighbor borrow my red book from last year and never saw it ago

by the way, this isnt ment to throw out a line to catch a fish
Im guessing its not a very good deal considering the current silver spot
Just looking for a confirmation

That's not a bad deal and it's not a great deal. The only coin carrying a premium is the 1996. If you tried to get these individually in say MS 67 or 68 (the norm) they would run about $18 each and the 1996 you could get for around $60 ... so doing the math ... 22 coins at $18 = $396, and one at $60 totals $456. So you are getting the album gratis. If you are thinking about these as an investment, I'd pass. Eagles traditionally carry a $4~5 premium over spot in the resale market. Dealers haven't made this adjustment with the recent drop of silver. If silver spikes in the near future you would gain. I would wait until they get around $5 over spot for the commons.

it seems hard to find eagles or bars due to the market
