Hey everyone! I had come across this bullet and was trying to figure a date and what type of gun it was fired out of. Its 1/2 inch tall and 3/8 wide see others with 3 rings and mines only got 2. weight: 14 grams and has a solid base

I have one that looks just like that, and it's Civil War Era, so I'm pretty sure the one you found is also Civil War Era.

Sorry, definitely not a civil war .36 or .38-caliber bullet. Note the extra-wide groove near the base, and the only other body-groove is narrow. There's no .36 or .38 like that in the various civil war bullet reference-books.

Looks 1870s-1890s to me.
