Need help identifying possible Colorado Canon Ball

Hi a buddy found this cool solid steel ball. Not for sure what it is, it has weight. 353.6 grams to be exact. It was found in the Tarryall wild life area in Colorado. Have no clue what it is please help.

If its truly made of steel, then no. Cannon balls were only made of iron or stone.

Great Question. I have no idea and just put steel. Now that you say it it looks like Iron.

Also to I just noticed it is not perfectly round. it has a few slight bulges or slight impression spots.

CBG is the expert on the balls. But I have read his posts where he says if they are not perfectly round they would likely not be a cannon ball. Hopefully he will come along. He is a pretty sharp fellow.
