If its truly made of steel, then no. Cannon balls were only made of iron or stone.

Great Question. I have no idea and just put steel. Now that you say it it looks like Iron.

Also to I just noticed it is not perfectly round. it has a few slight bulges or slight impression spots.

CBG is the expert on the balls. But I have read his posts where he says if they are not perfectly round they would likely not be a cannon ball. Hopefully he will come along. He is a pretty sharp fellow.
