I found this a couple of weeks ago in an area that had some civil war activity. The guys in my relic club agree that it is an old boot spur but I haven't been able to find anything like it online. Can anybody help?

Something to think about, the boys brought back a bunch of fancy spurs from the war with Mexico. Hunted a union calvary camp that yielded five spurs and one was similar to your. Your may also be a civilian spur, but whatever it turns out to be, it is a definite keeper. Regards.

Search for eagle head spurs you will find similar cavalry officers spurs but not the same and are one piece.
Here is a head from a two piece spur that was dug in VA. images.webp
