Need help ID'ing a little snake buckle

Found this today at an old log cabin site in middle TN. It is a little bigger than a half dollar, made of brass, and has Germany stamped on the keeper on the back. Any ideas of age or use would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for looking. I don't think the pendant is real gold, I actually found it on the floor of the old house. It was never in the ground which is why it is in such good shape. Still hoping for info on the buckle though.

Does that buckle say Germany on it? There would be another half to that buckle. It is a very cool find!!!

It does say Germany. I didn't know that there could be more to this buckle out there somewhere. I'll have to go back and scour the ground for it.
