Re: Need help ID'ing an old knife! Pocket knife found...

I just replied to a post on old pad locks, I feel the same about pocket knives. Fantastic finds, and yours does appear to be old. I think your going to have to clean it up a bit and look for some type of markings to help ID it. Unless someone has an identical one, there were so many different manufactures of knives I think It would be hard to ID. Congrats on a great find.

Try Cabella's they do sell antique guns I am not too sure about knives though they may be able to help. If you get any numbers a guy I work with may be of some help. Let me know.

Congrats on a nice pocketknife. It appears to be in good enough condition that it could clean up fairly well with a little soaking and some elbow grease. You could try soaking it in WD-40 for 24 hours or so, then rub off as much of the rust and gunk as possible before trying to open it up. Good luck.

Nice find.
From the way the blade peaks on it's back, I would think this may be a "pen" knife, a old style, but still used today.
What TreasureTales said: WD 40.
