Found this in an old homesite circa 1890, but still inhabited. Some excavating had been done in the yard. A few wheaties from '24 to '30 were very close to it, and all about the same depth. Though with the digging...... Also found the mechanical inside part of a pocket watch.
It is almost exactly the same diameter as a quarter.
Anyone have any idea what it is? When I dug it it was completely covered with crust and crud. Assumed it was a clad quarter because of the size etc. Finally got around to cleaning it off a bit, and it came out very clean very quick.
With the Quattro it IDed the same as a quarter also. It sure looks like a lot of copper to me though.
Thanks in advance,
