I appreciate both opinions. Anyone else, cow or fossil horse?

Would not be surprised if it was either one. I find alot of cool fossils here in central mississippi (shark teeth, sand dollars, shells, coral) I have probably close to a ton of petrified wood (literally) but I found the tooth in a creek in a rural area that consisted of small farms since the early 1900's. This creek also produces a few arrowheads each time I search it.

I thought cow tooth when I first seen it, it defiantly came from an animal that grazes!

Possibly Bison.I found one like it on a beach in VA and took it to the museum of nat.history in NYC and was told it was either horse or bison.

Your tooth appears to be a lower cheek tooth from an Equus sp. horse. Could be modern, could be Pleistocene.

The important view for ID of such a tooth is an occlusal view -- that is, a view of the grinding surface where upper and lower teeth met. Here's an example of an occlusal view.
