Hi, I have come into an older stamp collection. I don't really know what I'm looking at. Some are listed with Scott#'s. I have no idea if they are correct. Any help would be appreciated.
Certain varieties of that red Washington 2 cent stamp can bring big bucks (in unused condition--as yours appears to be). Don't dump that one without first getting a specialist to look at it--(is my 'two cents').
Don...
The figures shown in pencil reflect values of many years ago. The top line of the grouping pic on the right is another example of be careful about 'unloading' them; I see higher values in those stamps--if they are unused.
I just found another box with thousands of stamps. Several books, and a new/old Macon detector watermark viewer. I really need to find someone local to help me look at this collection.
If they can't help, maybe they can refer you to another professional who can.
I'd also check your local (or Bellingham's) Boy Scouts of America office and ask for the name and number of the Stamp Collecting Merit Badge Counselor.
Good luck,
Don......
