I found this in the area where I have found a number of points. There is evidence that this was a long term camp with pottery shards and flint chips over the whole area. Could this be a grinding rock? All I have looked for are points and I really don't know. Thanks for the help.

Look for worn spots on it from fingers and are there more rocks in the area like it?

Looks like a grinder, Fossis.................

I can say with 99% certainty that it's a hammer stone used for the manufacture of stone tools. All the tiny pit marks give it away (and where they are at along the edges). I make a lot of stone points and use similar rocks to make them... after a couple hours of use they are identical looking to this one.
