I can't make it out in the photos, but since you say the word LIBERTY is doubled... you found one of the very scarce double-struck 1972 pennies (called a "double die" minting error). Would be worth $150 or thereabouts if it wasn't pitted and corroded.

thanks i will try to get better pics in the mourning , there is a bit more going on with this coin but can't get a clear pic , anyhow thanks again

Did anyone try to run it through electrolysis? That could explain the pitting.

no elec treatment on this one i found it in my yard a depth of 10 inches
