Need help with button ID.

Hi all.

Found this today at a small 1920 home. I've got no clue what to google seach on. It doesn't look like a letter. Not even sure which way is up.

The back reads Extra Quality within a dotted ribbon and what looks like 3 spoon shaped things.

Would appreciate any insight as to what this may be.

The “P” stands for Police. Your button is a nice example of a police button that looks to be post civil war era judging by the backmark. I’m sure somebody can give you a better age on it but great find!
