We've been over our site a lot, so this afternoon, I focused on getting up around the base of wax myrtles and other bushes. It paid off with another hibernia. It's a George III, so the first two numbers in the date are on one side of the harp and the last two are on the other side. The "17" is easy to see, and I'm pretty sure the last number is 1. Does anybody see anything that would hint at the third number? I'm thinking it's 1781. It's not that important, but it's great, when you can read the date.

Do not know about the third digit, but an awesome find! :occasion14:

I'm not seeing a third or fourth digit at all. The dates on the Hibernais were separated by the shield (first two digits on the left side...which I can see the 17). the last two digits would be over to the right side of the shield. I just can't tell. Really nice fond though. Congrats! :occasion14:

Yeah, I don't think it can be determined. In the last photo, you can see, what I think is, the last digit. It's pretty far over, and it looks like the top half of a "1."

Anyway, I'm pleased to find another coin, after something of a drought.

This is a sweet piece of treasure mate - no matter the date, it's a great find! Congrats to ya! :skullflag: :occasion14:
