Hi all.

Found this today near an area that is supposed to have a lot of history. Has anyone seen anything like this before? Any information would be appreciated.

It's about 5 inches and the back is hollow. There is a stud or something in the middle of the back side. Maybe it was attached to something with that pin.

Thanks in advance.

That's what I was thinking....cool.

Thats hillarious how quick stuff gets an Id on here awesome job. Thats a really cool find also.

WOW, you guys are amazing! I was even going to say in my original post that I wasn't giving you much to go on.

I'm pretty sure that is it. The size is about right. The pin is what held the back on.

Dang, I wish it was in better shape.

Thanks for the help!!

Edited to add: One link I looked at said it was late 1800's. Cool!!

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Maybe the backside is around? Too bad their were not coins everywhere!

according to the 'Penny Bank Book' by Andy and Susan Moore, two versions of this bank were produced. One used a turn pin to keep the two halves together. It measured 5 5/8" tall and was made circa 1894. The other used a screw, and was 5 1/2" tall and was made from 1902 to 1926

That’s an interesting find. I would be interested to see it afterwards.

Killer find Bill!

Electrolysis will hook it up.

Nice find, should restore will some work! :occasion14:

Yeap, coin bank was going to be my first guess, especially as that attachment would have held the other half.

Very nice find. Any chance of going back to look for the other half ?
