Need Help with Mystery Item

Any clues on this one? Found it at a park today. It has a greenish color, making me think it is copper. Some type of lock cover? Thanks!

Hi, Fairly sure this is the bottom part of a metal fence post. It is usually 8 inches or so up from the bottom and stables the post in the ground. They are mostly painted green and are known to break off occasionally. God Bless! Paul

Definitely agree. I had to drive thousands of them growing up on a farm.
