✅ SOLVED need help with somekind of necklace peace?

Found this at the back of a cow field ,not sure if it is for a necklace or not,It has a big S in the middle which has me wondering if it is maybe some kind of prized "steer" cattle ear tag?It's core metal is pewter,plated with copper and overlaid with gold.The middle is silver,not sure if plated or solid! with a big S?

letter and number pendants have been popular for a long time and still are...sure looks like one to me

It looks like an initial pendant for a necklace, with the "S" being for the person's first or last name or boyfriend/girlfriend's name.
