Item on the left appears to be a button from the 1800's but not sure. See if you can clean it up better and look for a backmark or a design. The other item looks like a chisel.

Was there a rock quart nearby or was rock processes nearby? That looks like an old rock chisel.

I think the buttom looking deal is from a battery?

I'm not sure. I dont think so though. i walked a power line where there is a sandy turn around and a hiking trail. I found it buried in the sand. Seems pretty heavy duty so i could see if it was used as a chisel of some sort. I also cleaned that button up but could not find anything on it, very light and brittle though.

Kuger may be right, I don't think that it is a button now.

Thanks for all your input. I'm trying to picture it in my mind if you are talking about the "male" end of a battery? the little bump that sticks out in the middle is on the concave part of it.
