It’s a 1971 D Kennedy half. But the strike is a proof strike. It is kinda beat up. Which is why it’s kinda hard to tell on camera. But in person it is obvious.
Does anyone know any more info? From my understanding, they didn’t make proof strikes of P and D coins, right?

Not a proof. It is just a well struck coin, may have been struck with fairly new dies.

The Denver Mint has had a history of striking coins that appear to be Proof like.

Definitely not a proof.
