Hi gang, just a simple question and hope you can help. I have a piece of pottery that may or may not be very very very old. I have been in contact with a highly educated person who deals with ancient pottery and art.i got a response that I'm trying to figure out and not sure what it means. So hoping you can shed some light on it. Here is what response I got back below

some times the cost ($100) of evaluating up to 3 pieces is not justified by the ultimate value of the objects. I cannot, therefore, recommend that you go forward; however, I will accept the assignment if you want to proceed.

The cost of the evaluation is 100 dollars.

The "perceived value" of those objects is less than 100 dollars.

He will do his valuation if you want.

Not too hard.

DON'T do it! He has ALREADY told you that "the value" is NOT worth a DANG! SORRY! :coffee2:

But if your " highly educated person" offers to buy the piece, be very leery, turn him down--then get another opinion of value.
Don.....

Thanks for the input. Just wanted your opinions and help trying to decide. I appreciate it...

I agree with what has been said, but like a Dr. get a second opinion.
