They're only $399 new including shipping and some freebies. Unless it almost new and still under factory warranty, I'd pass. Of course, I just saw that you're in Okinawa so shipping might be an issue there. A local selection of used detectors might be pretty slim too! I'd contact some of our sponsors and see what kind of deals they'll make you. Good Luck!

That is what I paid for one through a trade that was 1 month old and never been registered. Great machines BTW!

I was able to get it for $250 with an additional coil. It also came with the 6" concentric, 7.5kHz coil. I couldn't be without one over the holiday weekend! I got out for an hour and a half today and found 5 clad coins and a watch. Not too bad when you are learning a new machine.

I have a 305 I bought for my mom and I have 705. I actually like the 305 better for the one coinshoot I did with it. The audio was spot on and the VDI was incredibly accurate. I could tell a zinc from a copper very easily within the first 5 mins of using it. The area was littered with nails also which were also in the same holes with many of the 100+ coins I dug in 2 hours. It really impressed me to be able to pick coins out of such an iron infested area with a concentric coil. I ran in all metal mode but got tired of hearing all the nails so I discriminated out iron and it still had no trouble picking coins out. This was under high school bleachers built back in the 80's so most all coins were less than 6" deep.

That sounds like a much better deal. Congrats and have fun!
