I found this point a few months ago.I asked my friend to put it on a necklace for my display case so I just got it back recently.Does anyone know what time period it is from and what kind of material it is made out of.It was found in sw missouri. It is grey with light blue speckles in it and a really cool light blue impurity streak that I think makes it look very unique. Anybody`s help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks jeff

It's a Grand point, named for the Grand waterway (Neosho up in MO). Appears to be made of either Reed Springs or Winterset chert. Reeds is more mottled with funky patterns, Winterset is speckled.

Wow you nailed that one Neanderthal. This point came from a big spring in my town of Neosho. How could you tell it came from Neosho, that is amazing. Thanks for your help.jeff

No problem Jeff, I get lucky every now and then. Looks like a nice point, happy hunting.
