Need some help on a detector choice for beach use.

I just got a new home down the jersey shore in Ocean Grove NJ. A great old town that has a lot of history. I want to get a metal detector for the beach but the more I look the more confused I get as to what brand to buy. I want to keep it under $400 and I want it to be able to go into the water. If some of you can give me a few name you like I would really appreciate it.
