Need some help

I am fairly new to Metal Detecting and have been practicing at home (10acre old VA farm) with good success. Using a Whites Coinmaster GT I have found coins, 3 toy nickel plated guns, silverware, old brass items, old copper items, aluminum junk most with fairly steady signals. I have found last night scanning the front road, a large open field and I am coming across 2' - 3' scattered areas that give off signals from all across the board, should I dig each of these larger areas up?
