Need technical advice re: underwater metal detection.

I have made an ROV which I will be using to 300 feet. No one makes a pinpointer for that depth so I want to enclose one in a zip tie bag to prevent leakage. I may have to reinforce the tip for 10 atmospheres. I need a way to transmit the audible signal back up thru the internet control cable ( four thrusters, 3 lights, Logitech flight controller) to my laptop. The visibility will be bad, and anything of value will be silted.
I could also see a light if the pinpointer has one. Any comments pro or con are welcome.
