First time I ever asked a question on this site and didnt get a reply. :icon_scratch: :tard:

I don't have a cortes , but when I take my silver umax to the beach I do OK. I stick to the dry sand, but I've read that if you turn down your sensitivity until the chatter from the salt lessens you can hunt the wet sand. Don't know :icon_scratch:

Sunscreen, stay hydrated and try not to get whiplash looking at the bikinis :o

I was absolutely impressed with the Cortes on the beach. Granted I didn't even attempt to use it near the wet sand. On the dry sand I simply turned the disc. up to between iron and foil and there were no problems. The place I hunted for a little while must have been hit hard before or pretty regularly, I didn't even find a clad coin. But I really didn't do alot of hunting, I did alot of girl watching and took many pictures. Thanks for the replies folks! Galveston is an awesome place. Sure would like to live there. :icon_sunny:
