Need Tips

I am going to attempt to hunt on a beach with my Cortes. Any tips? I know it's not a "beach machine" but maybe someone here has had experience on beaches with a Cortes. I will be on a beach in South Texas.

I don't have a cortes , but when I take my silver umax to the beach I do OK. I stick to the dry sand, but I've read that if you turn down your sensitivity until the chatter from the salt lessens you can hunt the wet sand. Don't know

Sunscreen, stay hydrated and try not to get whiplash looking at the bikinis

I was absolutely impressed with the Cortes on the beach. Granted I didn't even attempt to use it near the wet sand. On the dry sand I simply turned the disc. up to between iron and foil and there were no problems. The place I hunted for a little while must have been hit hard before or pretty regularly, I didn't even find a clad coin. But I really didn't do alot of hunting, I did alot of girl watching and took many pictures. Thanks for the replies folks! Galveston is an awesome place. Sure would like to live there.
