NEPA newbie

From Northeastern PA. Fairly new to this outside of a cheap radio shack detector I had as a kid. I decided I wanted a real detector to search a former campground near me, then other areas. First find was an old nail buried about 6" down. Haven't had much time to search, but can't wait until I can get out there and actually check out the area.

Thanks for the welcomes. I've had the detector for about a year but only used it a couple of times. Hoping to make more time once the weather warms up. I checked the PA page, but didn't see any groups local to me (even wilkes barre/scranton area). Anyone know of any that aren't listed?

I have a couple of places I want to check out mainly for curiosity, not expecting to find anything valuable. Although I would love to find something nice, I am more interested in the historical aspect. Wouldn't mind being part of a club in the area if anyone started one. Lehigh valley is a little far to drive on a regular basis for meetings.
