In my 46 years of detecting I have never been "skunked" before, did not find a single coin, day was cut short as the weather started to worsen . However ! I found a great relic from the past....A complete smoothing iron with baseplate and a wire thingy not sure what it was supposed to do, so really pleased with it and a bottle not sure of its age screw on top.....HH....Bonz

I would say those are pretty good statistics.
I have only been seriously hunting for 2+ years and have been skunked a few times already.
Very cool iron. That would have save my skunked record.

Hi SM, I hidit at the base of a tree and covered it with leaves collected it on my way out , and I didn't mention it was in some woods "I love this hobby"

Cool find Bonzo.. Dont feel bad, Im the reverse.. everyday NO coins..LOL someday I hope to change the odds. NOW I dont think thats a hanger, I think its a stand or a trivet it sat on and over the years the edge is all thats left..
