Got out to an old permission that has been good us in the past. Property sold to a developer so I'm trying to squeeze out a few more trips. Last week, the 1906 house was still up and I pulled a surprising 6 more wheat cents. It has since been torn down but still managed to pull another wheat, 1954 silver dime, WWII General Service button & an Nunnally Engineer button.

Plenty of good signals left :icon_thumright: In case you don't know, the big brass bowl in the 1st pic is a bell to the old crank phone.

Yeah, I remember she had it hanging up on her house when I first met her. It was thrown on the ground when the house was torn down.

Ah, I knew it was bell, but didn't realize it was a crank phone bell. Thanks!

WHen you watch a lot of people swing a coil you then soon understand why most places are never hunted out

Yes, the crank phone bell. I remember when I was a kid in the early 1950's we had a crank phone on the wall. And it was always on a party line, too!

Party line around here was kinda like the interwebs for back then. Peeps had nothing better to do than pick up the phone ( quiet as they could ) and snoop listen in to what others were on about. Eventually you heard something to make you wise to the interloper. When you called them out they screamed 'get off the line I want to make a call' The more things change the more they remain the same.
