New $100 bill

What do you think of the new design $100 bill? I'd like to buy a couple just because they look so neat. Will banks get them in their regular order, or is it something they have to request?
What about the hype over the serial number (http://www.parade.com/167895/linzlowe/new-100-bills-could-be-worth-up-to-15000/?)

Hi, from what I've heard, the FED is rolling out the new bills this week but that doesn't mean every bank will have them. They've been trying to use up the existing reserves of the older $100s in anticipation of this. You may have noticed recently that a lot of banks are handing out crisp, uncirculated old design bills. This is a sign that in that area they may be close to transitioning to the new bill. You can certainly request them the next time you're at your local bank but it's hard to say whether or not they'd be able to satisfy your request with the demand being so high at this time. As for the serial number, unfortunately I was unable to follow the link you left so not sure exactly what the question is, but if it is in regards to certain serial numbers like "radar notes" (12344321)and the like, it could be worth looking into. These type notes have always been popular to certain collectors and now that they are rolling out a new bill/design, it has brought new light to them. Pretty much anything with an interesting, unique or very low serial number including sequential star notes, could be worth something to the right collector.

Okay thank you! I edited the link to make it usable, but yes I was referring to things like "radar notes" and other special serial numbers. So, would it be possible foe one to just call local banks and ask when/if they have the new design $100 bills?

What I find interesting is that on the face (obverse) in the lower right they have printed the first paragraph of the Declaration of Independence, and right over the "100" it says "That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government,...".

Certainly. I can imagine though that you may get a lot of "I don't knows". Good Luck! Hopefully you can find some sooner rather than later.

Wow they are really different from the previous 100 bill designs! I like they way they look and feel! But nothing special about the serial numbers on mine.
