New deputy sheriff in town!

I found this badge looking lump on laundry day. I figured it was one of the fire badges the insurance companys used to give away so I tossed it in with the junk. I sorted through the junk and saw it in there. I sorta forgot about finding it because it looked like junk. I noticed a couple letters on the front. I figured I should clean it up a bit. I couldn't believe what was under all that crud. There's a new deputy sheriff in town and I guess it's me! Is this something that is legal to own? Thanks for looking! DD.

Nice find. Yes it is legal to have the badge, just don't wear it anywhere.

It is roughly 1 1/2" X 1 1/2". Kinda small compared to todays badges. DD

that is a really cool find! just don't try to use it to get out of traffic tickets and you'll be ok

That small it is probably a plain clothes deputy small enough to fit in a badge and commission card case. At my former PD they issued a full size badge, but a detective was allowed to purchase the smaller one for ease of carry. Too bad it don't have a number, someone probably would love to have it back. Monty
