Why can't someone make a detector that calls out your find rather than beep or fart.

Can you imagine, tecting the beach, then 'Gold Ring"!! "Pull Tab'"! 'Silver Chain"! 'Topless Woman, be discreet" !

Would have to say

"Can tab, or Nickel, or gold ring, Or large aluminum, Or Canslaw, Or aluminum token,
or foreign Coin of some type, Or other trash, Or other Goodie "

as your swinging over a Can tab because a detector does not know which it is.

Back in the 80's ? I think? there was a detector called a "Turtle"
I believe the ads said it Talked , but I always wondered if that's all it did.

there also may have been a Garrett with a voice feature

If they made a detector like that, it would take away from the thrill of the hunt !!!! Then it might become boring, and we wouldn't want that.
I enjoy the thrill of seeing what I find, I don't want to know before I dig.

They did have one The Garrett 2500 it was called treasure talk.... and you can still get one used … they do not put in treasure talk in the 2500's now..

OH yes the treasure talk would tell you what you had what size and how deep it was ….But it did not go over big i guess for they quit making them with treasure talk

By the time the machine processes the target and tells you verbally what the object is, you would have been able to dig it up and look or simply rejected it! What does it say for iffy signals, where first sweep is good then bad... When sweeps pick up multaple targets it says "change coil fool!"
The economy of information contained in the beep is fast and accurate... Re-inventing the wheel keeps engineers busy, but like fishing lures catching fishermen, most innovations really just catch the unwary detectorist!

..the detector....so far in your find pouch you have one barber half, two Jefferson, three walking liberty's, and two gold watches and a standing liberty...

Well there is a Garrett GTI 2000 .. on ebay now for bid who wants it ? No 2500's with treasure talk on there now but the 2000 is there … NOW liftloop and Hot Zone don't go fighting over it..

..Well Garrett still has the " Graphic Target Imaging " ..GTI… That shows the actual size of item in the ground …. on the GTI 2500 detector ….. I will say that GTI does work good i had the GTI 1500 and it was right on on the size..of the target …….AND i still say that the Garrett GTI detectors were better than the AT Pro detectors .. I liked my GTI 1500 better than i liked the AT Pro..

Yeah but I had to turn *****ing betty off after a bit.... The 2500 is an exceptional machine until you get her talking... not even a few drinks changed her mind about the junk she reported on and she never told me how much she loved me when she took more time talking than focusing on the target. Typical.

That could work...I use TDA's custom stock trading program that I can import whatever alert sound that I want when I place my buy/sell targets. When the $$ of a stock hits my set buy alert instead of a audible bell/whistle/chime/buzzer I programmed it to scream Cramer's "BUY,BUY,BUY! Same with a sell alert that scream's 'SELL,SELL,SELL! when it hit's my target. It's just a digital wav. from his soundboard.

Just need to get a digital wav. phrase triggered instead of the beep tones in a MD like PASS/DIG or TRASH, RING, COIN etc. If it's just a audible change in freqency to produce the diff tones then it shouldn't be that hard. Of course not knowing is part of the thrill but even though it scream's GOLD it may just be a false signal same as the beep tones give.
