Dad was nursing his leg & it was left to me to finish detecting the area we discovered yesterday. It only took me 2.5 hours to grid this small patch of Roman Coins, so just having the XP was a good move. Dad helped GPS as normal.
I suspected it was a small 1 acre spot but it was even smaller than I had hoped.

10 Roman Coins - some good ones
Crotal Bell - Complete but the pea was fused
Tudor Buckle
Tudor Knife Terminal
Medieval Cauldron Foot
Jetton
Bad condition but rare find - top of a 6th C Saxon Small-Long Brooch.8-)

We only have 2 more fields to check on this farm before the crops get too high.

Another fanatic detectorist! :)
Congrat my friend!

Nice stash of Roman coins and other finds! Too bad the 'pea' was fused on the crotal bell. It's cool when they are intact and are still able to ring.

The bell has a strange patina...you had a good day!

Its picked up a reddish hue from being in iron rich/wet ground.(bearing in mind the pea is iron as well) A couple of the Coins showed signs of this.

Very cool digs there Crusader.

Not a bad trip. Good job! :icon_thumleft:

Crusader,

Those 3 bottom Roman coins are in pretty good shape....some more to add to your ever growing collection.
