Yesterday I worked the field with my 4 X 6 coil, which is a little small to be working large fields. I also had a weird coin percentage for a field like that, way too many pennies. So this morning I took the 9 1/2" coil because it's more suited for fields, and I wanted to check and see if the coin ratio changed. My final conclusion was, that is just the way this field is, covered in pennies. After last nights weekly wild game BBQ, I just didn't feel like stooping down and digging half eaten zinc pennies all morning. I set my discrimination up to not accept zinc pennies after the first couple of trips across the field, and the rest of the hunt was a breeze. Ended up with about the same amount of clad, a College Station Soccer Club pin, and a 1980 Girl Scout pin. I'll leave most of those zincs for some one else.
