Greetings All-
Despite epic quantities of thirsty mosquitoes, I have continued my efforts to locate and detect colonial era sites. On Saturday I went to a new spot, and spent five hours exploring the woods along a local river. I found the usual assortment of lead and trash, but nothing of any real interest. Thankfully on the walk back to the car I lucked in to a couple of wheaties and a lovely 1940 half dollar.

Last night I returned to a colonial site I have hunted numerous times. Given how many times I have been over this spot, I was excited and surprised to come across a nice high tone that was directly beneath an old rotten stump.
After digging through and around the stump, I popped out a beautiful intact shoe buckle. I've never come across a buckle with such a nice design.

Thanks for taking a look. HH to everyone!
