Good day at some new hunting grounds. Only touched one small corner today but had these interesting finds. Old, extremely brittle chain, and half a grommet. And maybe a small shovel head? Also some other stuff we aren’t too sure about.

And some bullets? Two round balls and a modern bullet? Help me out pros! lol Also found 6 wheat pennies, 3 in the same hole. Oldest is 1920, my oldest so far. Heading back out there again tomorrow!

Yea this area, we don’t get many hits. So even a low hit, I’m digging. So on my detector, it’s just an entry one and doesn’t give the frequency. Just indicates iron, midrange, and silver/copper. A lot of stuff I dig, like that shovel or whatever it is, makes it go haywire and throws all kinds of signals. Wheats bounce back and forth between midrange and copper/silver. So that’s another reason I just dig regardless lol

It's not so much that "(we) don't get many hit." as what you hit when it does hit. Eh?

I believe your "shovel" is actually the nose piece that creates the furrow on an old horse drawn planter.

Nice relics, congrats! There should be some more keepers around, keep at it! :icon_thumleft:

Yea it usually means “I should probably dig this” lol

That would make sense bc I was trying to figure out how a shovel handle would attach to that and actually work lol
