New guy in Indiana

Hey guys I'm new to this site and new to metal detecting. Nice to see so many different people and places on here. I could use any pointers anyone wants to throw this way. First day out still cold in Indiana found 2 new pennies and a 1940 or 46 wheat can't really see the date. Oh yes and an old school beer tab LMAO haven't seen one of those for a while. Just looking for some ideas that a new comer wouldn't think of. Thanks and good luck.
