New member from Texas!

I’ve been poking around this forum for a few weeks now and finally had some off time to join. I had gotten my family a new metal detector for vacation, and the wife has already used it more than I have, go figure! Anyhow, I have been researching places to go and local/state laws since returning home. I’m interest in finding some local metal detecting clubs here in the DFW area of Texas. Any suggestions, advice, etc. is greatly welcome and appreciated in regards. Thank you ahead of time!

Thank you for all the warm welcomes...Hope to have some posts soon with finds though this Texas heat has been brutal the last few weeks. I got out on a hike with my eldest son by Benbrook Lake on Monday where we live and had the metal detector with me. But it was just too darn hot to do any detecting by the time we were at the location I was dying to get to and almost dying to get back from in 90 plus degree weather.
