Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
Hello,
I have been away from metal detecting for about 10 years. My detecting buds moved away and I was transferred overseas. I would very much like to get back into it. I am very interested in finding others to metal detect with or any help getting started back into the hobby. I am also interested in magnet fishing, bottle hunting and to try gem hunting. Please don’t hesitate in getting in touch with me.

Welcome. There should be a lot of Civil War activity near you. I drive through Gainesville going south to detect more than I'd like to admit. The trick will be finding a permission.

Permission is my biggest concern. I actually grew up in Centreville and remember when I was a teen and the area started building up, there were a lot of issues with people going on property without permission. I have talked to some property owners but they don’t seem interested. I detected when I was stationed in NC.

In Virginia its legal to hunt streams/creeks/rivers....IF.... you access them by a public bridge on a public road....Just don't go above the normal "high water mark" of said waters,as that is considered private property.Find a creek/stream that has low water, some hip-boots and your in like Flynn :)

Great! Thank you for the information. That gives me a place to start.
