Greetings everyone. I have been reading the boards for a day or two, and finally got around to signing up this evening. I'm Nick, and I hope to learn and contribute during my time here.

Picked up my first bank box of pennies on Monday, and here were my results:

768 coppers (almost 31%) - 16 of which were wheat and included a 1914, 1927, and a 1929. There were also 18 Canadians.

I am halfway trough a 2nd box of pennies that I picked up today (28% copper to this point with 9 wheat), and will update the thread with those final results sometime tomorrow.

Thanks for looking, and happy hunting everyone.

Nick

Welcome! You must be on the east coast if you found all those wheats.

Finished up my 2nd box of pennies, and the weird thing is that the copper amount was almost an exact match of box 1.

Box #2:
767 coppers (again almost 31%) - 23 of which were wheat (16 wheat in box 1) and included a 1914. There were also 9 Canadians.

Thanks for looking, and when (not if) I get box #3 I will update in this thread.

31% CU is great. I average around 19%.

That's great on all those wheats. Been super skunk for me lately. I only do rolls, never tried boxes. Most wheats I've had in one roll was 10, definitely a rarity!

That's a great ammount of copper, and the wheats aren't bad either. I've done a good bit of pennies and NEVER found an indian cent in a box, but I did find one in a customer wrap roll once.

Pennies and nickles are fun.

On to penny box #3. It will be hard to match my 31% copper pace from above. I wont mind a little less copper if the amount of wheats stay about the same.

Will post the results sometime tomorrow when I'm finished.

Nick

Edited to add: Wheat ender. :hello2:

Well, I went got 4 boxes of pennies today and 2 that were 2010-D SHield zincolns. I prefer copper myself.

Well I opened the wheat roll first, and 2 more wheat pennies were inside. :hello2:

Hopefully a foreshadowing of things to come.

Nick

10 rolls in to box #3 and I'm going to bed. So far:

163 coppers (32.6%) - 6 of which were wheat and there was also 1 Canadian penny.

Good score on the boxes
