Hey everyone, I am new here. I posted a thread on the ohio forum but decided to try here too lol. I am from Cincinnati Ohio and looking for some lost/buried treaures to look for. I have a vacation coming up and that would be a good time to go and start looking. I read about the Ashtabula train wreak where 2 million in gold bullion was spilled in the river. Is that 100% true? If so has anyone found any gold? Thanks!

here's a very well written article about it.....

http://www.prairieghosts.com/rr_disaster.html

read the 3rd paragraph from the bottom.

It happened on December 29th, and another reliable source said that it 'was' carrying gold, transporting it between the Christmas holiday and New Year's holiday and despite the weather and non-advised carrying of that much investment $$$ on one car AND on one train run, they did it anyways, as many people were away for the holiday week and it turned out to be bad decision making.

my AT Pro is good for up to 10'.... anyone with a good water machine I can borrow?

Yea I read that one. Do you think the gold is still in the river?

Every now and then, someone finds a gold coin washed ashore. A lot of it is still there. A couple of River Boats also went down in the Ohio River. Some of the money onboard has also made it to the bank.

Are you from the area? And would anyone know how much a coin would cost now?
