New member in Texas

Hey everybody, I live around Houston, even though I haven't been panning in a long time, I enjoyed the hobby. I didn't want to just lurk, but I enjoy reading the posts on here. I've done some gold panning in Arizona, and researched a little about points, but it seems to be hard here in Texas to find somewhere to hunt if you don't know anybody. Hopefully planning a hunt sometime this fall/winter while the water level is so low. Anyway, good site, keep up the good work!

A big Hello from another fellow Texan! I also signed up today...Great site with lots of info. I know what you mean about finding old sites anymore, it is getting difficult. Luckily, one of our local Corps of Engineers Lakes is close by and it reached historical lows this summer and revealed several very old farm/homesites we have been able to date to the 1880's 1890's. Good luck with your hunts!
