I have some copper wire under the shed and it has turned green, does this affect the price? And if it does is there an easy way to clean it up? Also I have a very large propane tank(7-8 ft long/3-4 ft high) behind my shed that was left by the previous owner, is there any scrap value to these? What type of metal is it? And one last question. If I seperate all my metals on my truck and trailer before I get to the yard will they let me sell it that way(ex.aluminum&iron on the trailer and copper on the truck) or is it to much trouble for them. I don't want to get screwed. Thanks for any help......

1. yes it does make the copper worth a little less money but not that much. as for cleaning it, i personally do not think that its worth it. maybe some others on this forum will give you a way to clean it.
2. usually those big tanks are made of aluminum but they might be steel. the easiest way to check is with a magnet. if the magnet sticks then the tank is steel if it doesn't its most likely aluminum. you might want to call your scrap dealer and ask if they take the tanks. i know mine only takes them if i make a hole in it first for safety purposes.
3. its best to septate all your metals into bins. i use garbage cans to separate my metals. do that for all of them except for your steel. that they weight you whole truck before and after you dump the metal to get the weight of your steel.
