Seeing that pic of the salt cellar reminded me of an item that I dug 48 years ago with heavy equipment. Yesterday I re dug it from my basement where it has been for 30+ years. Not too pretty, but I thought it may interest some. I assume it is a soap dish. It is 5 1/4 inches long.

I worked for a pottery for more than 30 years .I was always impressed with the process of turning dirt into useful objects . The people that had a use for the old pieces where more concerned about usefulness than appearances .
