Got out for a while with my huntin buddy at a new 1850’s farm in south eastern Massachusetts. Not too much in the way of coins but we found some cool stuff and not a lot of junk either.

Cyrus McCormick, the inventor of a machine to help in harvesting wheat. I see he passed in the 1880's. Wonder how old that token is?

Nice finds Joe! That Nickel that's cut in-half is now a 2 1/2 cent piece, very rare!

From what I could figure it was issued in 1931, the largie is 1802 draped bust. First one I’ve dug with a legible date

The heart heel plate is a nice find. I’ve found a few, and someone always tells me one of two stories, but I’ll give you my favorite. The story is that hookers wore them so the johns could follow the heart shaped heel prints, bringing business to them easier. 99.9% sure it’s untrue but hey, why not
